As a musical theater kid, I'm always looking for musicals to watch. However, the tickets can be really expensive. Plus, we are in a pandemic, so watching live shows is not an option.
But I have found a way to watch high-quality musicals on Youtube from home! I hope this helps any musical theater kids, musical theater adults, and musical theater lovers!
And I found a way to watch them from home for free!
We've all seen recorded shows, and a lot of times they are done illegally. When that happens, the quality is not the best and, again, is illegal, so it is not the best option.
But this is different, it's a completely legal way to watch shows from Youtube!
The channel is called "The Shows Must Go On!", and every Friday they upload a new musical. The musical only stays up for 72 hours, so you need to watch it fast!
They have released "The Phantom Of The Opera", "The Sound Of Music", "Jesus Christ Super Star", "Hairspray", and many more!
The channel also leaves a link so you can donate to charities like ACLU, charities to help performers, and many others.
I love their work and how they are providing us musicals to entertain ourselves during these hard times.
I also love how they are promoting charities and just spreading joy.
Another thing is that all of the shows were filmed before self-isolation, so there is no risk! I think this is kind of obvious, but it was a doubt that I had in the beginning.
